Path To Salvation

Path To Salvation        What We Believe

Path to salvation

All Have Sinned. Romans 3:10 states, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.” And again in Romans 3:23 we are told, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 5:12 tells us, “Wherefore, as by one man [Adam] sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” When Adam sinned, he brought the curse of sin upon all mankind. This is why everyone is born with a nature to sin, it has been passed down since Adam.  There is a Penalty for Sin. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Death is the penalty for sin, Physical Death and a Second Death. Most people confuse spiritual death with the Second Death. We are born spiritually-dead. Adam and Eve died spiritually the moment they sinned, and all of their descendants since have been born spiritually-dead. This is why a person must be born-again spiritually. God’s Holy Spirit is that spiritual life. The Bible also speaks of a Second Death, which means being cast into the Lake of Fire forever as punishment for our sins. Just as a person is paid wages for work performed on the job, so does God payback sinners in the Lake of Fire.  Jesus Died, Was Buried, And Rose Three Days Later. Christ died for our sins! Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” What a precious Scripture! God in His love decided to give mankind a chance to escape the wrath of God’s judgment. Jesus came and laid down His life for us, knowing just how sinful the human race is. God expressed His love for humanity, paying men’s sin debt, knowing that we are so undeserving.  Call Upon the Lord Jesus to Be Saved. Romans 10:13 promises, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” The word “call” means “to appeal unto.” Lost sinners who come to Jesus for forgiveness of sins, believing that He is the Christ, the Son of God, will be saved. How much faith do you need to be saved? Just enough faith to obey Romans 10:13 and trust upon the Lord Jesus for salvation. Romans 10:9-10, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”Jesus DIED, was BURIED and RESURRECTED. This is the Gospel according to 1st Corinthians 15:1-4. If you receive the Gospel as payment for your sins, then you are saved immediately, irrevocably and eternally.Salvation is the simplest thing in the world, but men can make it so complicated. Some people say that faith in Christ is insufficient to save a lost sinner. They claim that a person must depart from their sinful lifestyle and commit their life to live for God. That is a very complicated requirement for a person who’s been living in sin their entire life. Old habits are not easily broken. The truth is that salvation is a free gift that God offers to humanity. Salvation is receiving; not giving. Notice once again the words of Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” All God requires of us to receive the free gift of eternal life is that we come by way of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Amen!

What we Believe

1) The Scripture Inspired

The Scriptures, both Old & New Testaments, are verbally

inspired by God & are the revelation of God to man,

the infallible, authoritative rule of faith & conduct.

(2 Tim. 3:15-17; 1 Thess.2:13; 2 Peter 1:21)

2) The One True God

The one true God has revealed himself as the eternal self-existent “I AM”,

the Creator of Heaven & earth & the redeemer of mankind.

He has further revealed himself as embodying the principals of relationship &

association as Father, Son, & Holy Ghost. (Deut. 6:4; Isaiah 43:10-11; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22)

3) The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ

The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare: a) His virgin birth (Matt.1:23; Luke 1:31-35). b) His sinless life (Heb.7:26; 1 Peter 2:22) c) His miracles (Acts 2:22, 10:38) d) His substitutionary work on the cross. (1 Cor.15:3; 2 Cor. 5:21) e) His bodily resurrection from the dead. (Matt.28:6; Luke 24:39; 1 Cor.15:4) f) His exaltation to the right hand of God. (Acts 1:9-11, 2:33; Phil. 2:9-11; Heb. 1:3)

4) The Fall of Man

Man was created good & upright; for God said, “let us make man in our own image after our likeness”. However, man by voluntary transgress-ion fell & thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. (Genesis 1:26-27, 2:17, 3:6; Romans 5:12-19)

5) The Salvation of Man

Man’s only hope for redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God. Salvation is received through repentance towards God & faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ by the washing of regeneration & renewing the Holy Ghost, being justified by grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God according to the hope of eternal life.(Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Romans 10:13-15; Eph. 2:8; Titus 2:11, 3:5-7) The inward evidence of salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit.(Romans 8:16). The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness & true holiness. (Ephesians 4:24; Titus 2:12).

6) The Ordinances of the Church

Baptism in water; the ordinance of baptism by immersion is commanded in the Scriptures. All who repent & believe on Jesus Christ as Savior & Lord are to be baptized. Thus they declare to the world that they have died with Christ & that they also have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. (Matt.28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4). Holy communion; The Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements-bread & the fruit of the vine-is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ, a memorial of his suffering & death & a prophecy of his 2nd coming & is enjoined on all believers. (2 Peter 1:4; 1 Cor.11:26)

7) The Baptism in the Holy Ghost

All believers are entitled to & should ardently expect & earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Ghost & fire, according to the commandment of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8;1 Cor. 12:1-31). This experience is distinct from & subsequent to the experience of the new birth. (Acts 8:12-17, 10:44-46, 11:14-16, 15:7-9). With baptism of the Holy Ghost you experience an overflowing fullness of the Spirit,(John 7:37-39; Acts 4:8) a deepened reverence for God.

8) The Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Ghost

The baptism of believers in the Holy Ghost is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives them utterance (Acts 2). The speaking in tongues in this instance is the same in essence as the gift of tongues, (1Cor.12:4-10,28) but different in purpose & use

9) Sanctification

Sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil, & of dedication unto God (Roman 12:1-2;1 Thess.5:23; Hebrews 13:12) Scriptures teach a life of “Holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord”.(Heb.12:14) (1Peter 1:15-16)(Rom.6:1-11, 8:1,2,13; Gal.2:20; Phill. 2:12-13; 1Peter 1:5).

10) The Church & its Mission

The church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfill-ment of His great commission. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the general assembly & church of the first born, which are written in heaven. (Eph. 1:22-23,2:22; Heb.12:23) Since God’s purpose concerning man is to seek & to save that which is lost, to be worshipped by man, & to build a body of believers in the image of His Son. The priority reason for being of the church is; a)To be an agency of God for evangelizing the world(Acts 1:8; Matt.28:19-20; Mark 16:15-16) b) To be a corporate body in which man may worship God(1 Cor.12:13) c) To be a channel of God’s purpose to build a body of saints being perfected in the image of His Son (Eph.4:11-16;1 Cor.12:28, 14:12)

11) The Ministry

A divinely called & scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for the threefold purpose of leading the church in; a) evangelization of the world (Mark 16:15-20) b) Worship of God(John 4:23-24) c) Building a body of saints being perfected in the image of His Son.(Eph.4:11-16)

12) Divine Healing

Divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the Atonement, & is the privilege of all believers.(Isaiah 53:4-5; Matt. 8:16-17; James 5:14-16)

13) The Blessed Hope

The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ in their translation together with those who are alive & remain unto the coming of the Lord is the imminent & blessed hope of the church(1 Thes.4:16-17;Rom. 8:23; Titus 2:13;1 Cor.15:51-52)

14) The Millennial Reign of Christ

The 2nd coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints, which is our blessed hope, followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on the earth for 1000 years.(Zech.14:5; Matt. 24:27-30; Rev. 1:7, 19:11-14, 20:1-6) This millennial reign will bring the salvation of national Israel. (Eze.37:21-22; Zeph.3:19-20; Rom.11:26-27) and the establishment of universal peace (Isaiah 11:6-9; Psalm 72:3-8; Micah 4:3-4)

15) The Final Judgment

There will be a final judgment in which the wicked dead will be raised & judged according to their works. Whosoever is not found in the book of life, together with the devil, his angels, the beast, & the false prophet will be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake which burneth with fire & brimstone, which is the 2nd death(Matt.25:46;Mark 9:43-48;Rev. 19:20, 20:11-15,21:8)

16) The New Heavens & New Earth

We, according to His promise, look for the new heavens & a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. (2 Peter 3:13)
